HVDC Transmission Line

HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current Transmission) is a bulk power transfer method that uses Direct current to transmit electricity, as opposed to HVAC power systems that use Alternating current. Power or Superhighway HVDC is commonly referred to as a “superhighway” in the electrical world.

The direction of voltage and current changes continuously in AC transmission, causing overheating in the wires and severe power loss. In contrast to AC transmission, DC transmission only allows current and voltage to flow in one way. As a result, when we switch HVAC to HVDC, we see a large reduction in power loss, enhancing the transmission lines’ efficiency.

In contrast to HVAC power systems, which utilise alternating current, HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current Transmission) is a bulk power transfer method that uses direct current to convey electricity. Superhighway or Power In the electrical field, HVDC is referred regarded as a “superhighway.”

In AC transmission, the direction of voltage and current changes frequently, creating overheating in the wires and significant power loss. DC transmission, unlike AC transmission, only permits current and voltage to flow in one direction. As a result, when we switch HVAC to HVDC, we find a significant reduction in power loss, improving the efficiency of the transmission lines.
